The history of the Huracán
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014, the Lamborghini Huracán succeeds the legendary Gallardo, the best-selling model in Lamborghini's history (over 14,000 units in 10 years). Its name comes from a Spanish fighting bull famous for its exceptional courage in the arena in 1879 — true to the Lamborghini tradition of naming its models after legendary bulls.
The Huracán has been produced in many versions: LP 610-4 coupé, Spyder, Performante, EVO, STO, and Tecnica. The Spyder (convertible) was unveiled in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This is the version, roof open and wind in your hair, that you can drive with Evasio through the streets of Paris.
With over 20,000 units produced across all versions, the Huracán has become the best-selling Lamborghini of all time, surpassing the Gallardo. It also marks the end of an era: the Huracán is the last Lamborghini with a pure naturally aspirated V10 engine, before the shift to hybridisation with the Temerario.
Filippo Perini's design
The Huracán's design is the work of Filippo Perini, then director of the Centro Stile Lamborghini. He created a visual language based on hexagonal shapes — found everywhere: the front and rear lights, the air intakes, the exhaust outlets, the dashboard, and even the leather stitching.
The proportions are striking: a low, aggressive nose, Y-shaped sculpted sides (the Lamborghini signature), a truncated rear with an imposing diffuser. The Spyder version adds a soft top that retracts in 17 seconds, transforming the car into an open-air rolling sculpture.
The interior is equally spectacular. The dashboard is centred around a 12.3-inch TFT screen that is fully configurable, inspired by fighter jet cockpits. The red start/stop cover is protected by an aluminium flap — a ritual that sends adrenaline surging before you even turn the key.
The naturally aspirated V10: the last of its kind
The heart of the Huracán is a naturally aspirated 5,204 cc V10 developed jointly with Audi (the Huracán shares its platform with the Audi R8). But make no mistake: this engine has been entirely recalibrated by the engineers in Sant'Agata Bolognese to deliver a 100% Lamborghini character.
Power varies by version: 610 hp on the original LP 610-4, 640 hp on the EVO version (2019). The maximum rev reaches 8,500 rpm, with a redline starting at 8,000 rpm — figures only a naturally aspirated engine can achieve. The 560 Nm of torque arrives at 6,500 rpm, which means you need to rev it high to enjoy it fully.
And that's where the magic lies. The sound of a naturally aspirated Lamborghini V10 is incomparable: a sharp, crystalline, almost mechanical roar that builds linearly to the redline. It's a symphony that neither a turbo nor an electric motor could ever reproduce. On the streets of Paris, this sound turns absolutely every head.
The driving experience in Paris with Evasio
Driving a Lamborghini Huracán Spyder in Paris is a visceral experience. From the moment you start the engine at 101 avenue des Champs-Élysées, the V10 awakens with a deep rumble that vibrates through the cabin. Your professional co-pilot guides you through the controls — the driving mode selector (Strada, Sport, Corsa), the paddle shifters, the launch control.
The AWD all-wheel drive offers exceptional traction, even on wet Parisian cobblestones. Unlike rear-wheel drive, you can accelerate hard from green lights without risk of losing grip. The aluminium and carbon fibre chassis is impressively rigid, making the steering ultra-precise.
The route passes by the most beautiful monuments in Paris: Arc de Triomphe, Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower, Pont Alexandre III, Les Invalides and back via the Champs-Élysées. The co-pilot adapts the route in real time to maximise your driving pleasure. Learn more about the best supercar routes in Paris.
